What We Owe the Jews
Yom Kippur, 2022 starts at sundown this evening, October 4, and ends at sundown tomorrow, Wednesday, October 5. Yom Kippur, as you probably know, means “Day of Atonement.” It is the highest of the holy days in the Jewish calendar. We wish all our Jewish friends a blessed “G’mar chatima tova.” In English, that means “May you be sealed in the Book of Life.”
This seems like a good time to revisit what we owe our Jewish friends and forebears.
